(bilingual) “Delight in the Fear of the Lord” 2023年10月15日

Isaiah11:1-5
Paster Ben

There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse,
And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
His delight is in the fear of the Lord,
And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
But with righteousness He shall judge the poor,
And decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins,
And faithfulness the belt of His waist.

Questions to deepen your understanding of the message.
a) What did Jesus make His highest priority for His actions and behaviors?
b) Do you rejoice in fear of the Lord?
c) Do you have anything in higher priority than obeying God?

(bilingual) “His Mercifulness” 2023年10月8日

Luke7:11-17
Paster Ben

Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His
disciples went with Him, and a large crowd. And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother. Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen up among us”; and, “God has visited His people.” And this report about Him went throughout all Judea and all the surrounding region.

Questions to deepen your understanding of the message.
a) Does Jesus care for us only when our faith is strong?
b) How much does Jesus love each one of us?
c) If Jesus accepts us even with our weak faith, is it OK for us to remain having a weak faith all the time?

(bilingual) “The Gentle Hand of Jesus.” 2023年10月1日 world sacrament day

Mark1:40-45
Paster Ben

Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, keeling down to Him and saying to Him, "If You are willing, You can make me clean." Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched ot His hand and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed." As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed. And He strictly warned him and sent him away at once, and said to him, "See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them." However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places; and they came to Him from every direction.

Questions to deepen your understanding of the message.
a) When you are stressed out, how do you deal with it?
b) Do you have an experience of being touched by Jesus?
c) Do you pray for our church that she may be a gathering of people who always trust in Jesus?

(bilingual) “The Salvation is Getting Closer.” 2023年9月24日 Memorial service for the summoned

Romans13:11-14
Paster Ben

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

Questions to deepen your understanding of the message.
a) When is the time to be awaken?
b) How should we spend our times in the times like now that the Day is getting closer?
c) Are you wearing Christ on yourself?

(bilingual) “Words of God that Fulfills in Time.” 2023年9月17日 Respect for the Aged Day

Luke1:5-25
Paster Ben

There was in the days of Herod, the King of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years. So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division, according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense. Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the alter of incense. And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." And Zacharias said to the angel, "How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years." And the angel answered and said to him, "I am Gabriel , who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time." And the people waited for Zacharias, and marveled that he lingered so long in the temple. But when he came out, he could not speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple, for he beckoned to them and remained speechless. So it was, as soon as the days of his service were completed, that he departed to his own house. Now after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived; and she hid herself five months, saying, " Thus the Lord has dealt with me, in the days when He looked on me, to take away my reproach among people."

Questions to deepen your understanding of the message.
a) Does grace of God have any difference according to our ages?
b) What do you do when your prayers are not answered for a long time?
c) When are blessings poured onto us the most?
